Very Tired

I tried something different last night but it made things worse! I woke Xander up at 9.30pm to give him a top up so that he would sleep all night and not wake at 1 or 2 am. Well, because i woke him from a deep sleep he decided to wake up every hour last night just to get me back!
He's a little grumpy today but at least he is still smiling!
Alan cooked yummy fish last night for dinner, mmm he can cook fish all the time now.

I tried some fish and it was yummy - i'm not supposed to have any for two more weeks but mum gave me some anyway!

Little Houdini

Well Xander has figured out how to roll over even in his safety sleep, i tighten it so that there are no gaps but he still rolls over - can't win.
And i can't believe what a great typer Xander is! all those comments he has left under each new posting.
Also when i reach to pick Xander up he is now reaching to be picked up. He also trys to wave at himself in the mirror - even though he doesn't know it's him!

Yum, Yum, Yum. The house is filled with yummy baking smells and mum made me special little muffins which are really good! I also ate my first raw apple, it was fun and yummy. I think mum put some photos up for you to see. - Xander

What a cheeky monkey i have, this is his new face that he likes to pull! Xander was a good boy last night and slept all night (despite it being 0 degrees and his hands were frozen!).

New Toy

Mum hired this really cool music toy, i dance to the music and i almost fell off but mum was there to catch me! It's so much fun.
See I'm smiling!

Day of fun!?!

Xander and i ventured out in the cold yesterday to a place called Munchkins, a toy play and hire place where mums can have a coffee and watch their little ones play with interesting toys, and if the child liked it lots you can hire the toy for a week or a month.
Of course i hired two toys that make lots of noise - it's worth it seeing Xander really excited and smiling the whole time he is playing with them.
Last night Xander woke up almost every hour, first cos he was too hot, then i don't know why, i fed him twice and comforted him so much i almost fell asleep on my feet rocking him!
When he woke at 6.30am this morning Alan brought him to our bed and then got ready for work, after i advised him that Xander was awake most of the night, Alan took Xander to the kitchen, gave him breakfast and changed his nappy all so i could have another hours sleep. Needless to say he was late to work this morning.
And bouyed by the wonderful comments left by Ang and Sandra i feel much better about having a bad day! Thanks guys.

Bad Day

Monday was a great day - Xander had 3 1 hour sleeps and slept most of the night - woke at 4.30am.
Tuesday however was a nightmare! it started well enough but as the time got late, the washing (dried) had piled up with the intention of being folded when Xander decided he was going to cry and cry and cry and cry and cry.
When Dad got home, Mum was in tears and Xander was screaming in his cot. Who to go to first? Points to Dad for hugging mum first and then picking Xander up. All he wanted was food, but do you think mum could figure that out? Xander had two bowls of vegetables and then half jar of plum dessert. I had fed him but obviously not enough, i'd thought he was crying because he was so tired (he'd only had a 30minute sleep in the mid-morning).
So we had a great night sleep cos Xander was exhausted which is great.
Thankfully all the washing is now folded and put away and i don't feel like a terrible mother and housewife today!

Do ya think i'm happy??

Yey, we've had 1000 people viewing our blog! Just more comments please!
Poor Alan has a cold, with a hacking cough but every time he coughs he has a little echo - you got it Xander thinks it's a game and cough immediately after his dad with a huge smile on his face.
Alan goes back to the call centre on Monday and nothing else has changed, we are just a little cold - burning all our wood in our lovely warm fire place - but very happy.

New Photos

I have just added some new photos in June 06 folder.
What a combination for lunch today - cucumber, avocado and apple - it was yummy.
Up all night last night, 11pm, 2am, 5am - must be having a growth spurt - or sore gums!

Xander's third hospital check up was today - no change to his lump and he will be having the procedure to get rid of it in late November. What a birthday present that will be!!
Yey, 2nd tooth and counting - none of us are liking that it hurts though, poor little man has been very grumpy and won't let mummy out of his sight during the day.
Today he also tried to stand! I held him on my knee and he locked his knees and stood tall for about 20 seconds. This is the first time he's even really attempted it, usually just buckles.
Coming along nicely i dare say!!
No photos this time, sorry.

7 Months Old!

What a big boy Xander is now. 8.5kg and eating lots! 71cms tall!
This morning another mile stone was reached - Xander crawled about a foot!!! He sort of pulls himself along with his right arm under him and then pushes with his toes. Such a clever boy.
Xander is very happy to have his Nanna and Grandad, and his Grandpa here for the weekend. No tears for Grandad this time, just smiles!
He gets Nanna all to himself tonight as the rest of us are off to the rugby.
Of course more photos have been added.

Poor Grandad

Poor Grandad. Everyone else was gifted with smiles and laughs over the weekend, but once Xander saw his Grandad his bottom lip dropped and whimpers were heard instead of laughs.
I have instructed Xander to be nice to his Grandad - he'll miss out on great presents otherwise!

Xander didn't learn to crawl while away, but he spins faster on his belly and he is stronger getting on his hands and knees. He loved all the attention lavished on him by his grandparents and aunty and uncle. I'm sure he has put on an extra kilo after all the food his granny was giving him!
Xander woke at 4am expecting a feed again this morning, however i prevailed and he went back to sleep after 30minutes of crying (that was hard!).
On the way home Xander was watching Daddy watching the snow capped mountains on the desert road. When Dad looked at him, Xander spoke to him. No more yips and squeals only, he now babbles! So that is the big acheivement of this weekend. He now babbles and makes mmmummm sounds - nearly saying mum! I've never heard him laugh so much - he laughs for no apparent reason now and his whole faces lights up.
We also stopped at the windmill in Foxton and Xander thinks we went to Holland. Much to Daddy's delight we got some Dutch treats on the way home.
Don't forget to check out the photos, new album labelled June 06.
