hello grandad, by the end of the weekend she was holding her arms up to him to be picked up.

Esmee ate 3/4 of a plate of cabonara nana and grandad were astounded! then she polished off a large ice cream sundae. Xander's dinner was fish and chips - he only ate a 1/3rd of it though and had three mouthfuls of ice cream.

Little Fishies

Today was Xander's first swimming lesson where he was able to do it himself at 9am. He loved that he could touch the bottom! And he swam really well by himself with the noodle. He had a great time.

Esmee had to wait an hour and a half while Daddy and Xander swam and then we had to wait for her turn. She did not like that and screamed the whole time. It didn't help that she missed her sleep because we were at the pool.
But Esmee's first swimming lesson started at 10.30.
She really enjoyed it.

A day in the sun!

Yey for the hot summery weather we have been having the last few days. The kids are delighted to playing outside in the sun! Not to mention going for walks and riding our (Xander) bikes!
We went to the Lake today with Nita and Michaela for a picnic lunch. The picnic lasted five minutes and then Xander and Michaela were off to the jungle gym.

Poor Xander, after having heaps of fun on the swing, going through the tunnel slide and up the chain ladder he followed Michaela over the log bridge, stopped half way for a fun jump and it snapped underneath him. Luckily he was holding the rail as suddenly there was no floor!

It's okay the chain holding it up had rusted and decided to give up the ghost as Xander jumped.
Esmee thought it looked like fun and had a hang too.

Then we spied the very big slide so up they run.
Xander had a brief pause before plunging down the steep slope.

Weee, it was so fun Esmee was demanding from the pram to have a go, so off i went with her. Doesn't her grin say it all!A fun afternoon coming straight from Kindy, so both kids were knackered and had a sleep when we got home. Usually it's a fight these days to get Xander to sleep on a Wednesday, the one day of the week he HAS to have one, so this wore him out nicely.

Esmee has discovered, much to Xander's consternation, the delights of drawing. Her favourite thing is pulling all the pens and pencils out of the case and putting them back in.
She did do a couple of drawings. Two of them she told me what she drew. She made her purring sound for one and a car sound for another. These are labelled and have been put away for her future reference - what a bright girl!

Our Cheeky Miss

Esmee is getting bigger and bigger before our eyes and her cheekiness is growing too!
She delights in playing peek a boo.
More often than not she crawls around the house looking for her walker and once it's found is walking all over the place, she has mastered the cornering and i have spied her a couple times standing without holding it and she is very steady. Maybe by Christmas she will be walking!

Here Esmee is doing her cat sign. This is the new bed we brought for Rascal and Esmee climbed in. I think she was pretending to be a cat. So cute!

Xander's Greenfingers

Xander asked to do a craft over the weekend so we thought it would be a great idea for him to take care of some vegetables. We bought some lettuce and a tomato plant and this weekend we will get some strawberry plants.
He was so excited to plant them in the soil and then give them a drink!

Xander's Bike

We bought Xander a bike last weekend. It's his early birthday present - we figured seeing as the weather has gotten really warm and sunny that he can have it now. He loves it! After the first thirty minutes he really got the hand of peddling and was going fast!
