Esmee 1-2

19 days until she's 5!
We had her first school visit yesterday. She wrote her first sentence "i saw hikins" (chickens!) all by herself. When we left she asked why did we only stay for a little while. She is going to have fun at school (we hope!).

Here she is from her first birthday to her second :)

first birthday

and the climbing starts as soon as she can walk!

do you remember that she hated the feeling of grass?!

at 14 months she polished off this huge plate of cabonara

first time in a big bed

her love of puzzles started!

that scary time Esmee had those passing out spells *shudder*

tea, baa sheep?

Here are our mini ballerina and soccer stars!
It's sad that Xander's soccer is over for another season - he's improved stacks again!
Esmee is in the beginner ballet class and we are awaiting info on the upcoming production in November and her costume!

some family fun

To finish off the weekend, despite the grey ominous clouds we went mini golfing.
It was lots of fun! Xander was sad to come last and Alan only won by 1 stroke!

Pirate Xander

Xander had a disco at school on Friday night. Themed Under the Sea and Beyond.
Can you guess what he dressed up as?
I think the majority of boys were pirates, and the girls were a mixture of hula dancers and mermaids.
He had a great time, once i could get him to move away from me and dance with his friends (or should i say teachers!).

Esmee aged 2-3

29 days to go!!
Esmee loved puzzles and dollies, tea parties and castles. Strawberry shortcake, dressing up her dollies and dressing up herself occupied lots of her time. And of course she got her ears pierced for her 3rd birthday.
Here are some photos of her journey from 2-3, ending with her 3rd birthday! Enjoy :) (i can't believe how much she has changed physically!)

The countdown is on!

So next month our little princess is going to be 5. Off to school. *gulp*

Esmee is very excited and we have a chart with numbers so she can cross off the days until she is 5 - though she forgets to cross a number off every night so every few days we have to count on the calendar again!
It is 48 days away - including today and her Birthday. 48!

So i'm going to post a photo from last year's birthday.

Here is a list of things Esmee loved to do, or did in the year between turning 3 and 4.
Esmee loved to dance. She attended Jitterbugs at Te Totara School for the whole year in 2011.
She had a new puppy that she adored!
She attended Hukanui Kindergarten and was interested in soccer and swings and bikes. Art and crafts and weddings were a big thing. Dress ups in pretty dresses and pretending to be Belle or Aurora was the most fun, as was playing with Barbies.
Fairies, Princesses and Baking reigned.
Esmee was a "i will do it girl". Nothing pushover about her. Let's hope this doesn't change and she takes her strong will with her through the rest of her life.

Would anyone like to share some particular events that you remember from our fiesty four-year old?
