So, today i officially graduated with my Diploma of Teaching (ECE).
It was so nice to have my family and mum there to celebrate with me!

We finished the morning/afternoon off with lunch at The Cook and relaxing at home.

This is my second graduation - first was for my Bachelor of Arts. Do you think this will be the last time graduate?

All the way to China....

Alan started digging in the backyard and the kids decided to help.
Xander told me they were digging all the way to China!

The holes got so deep they went over Xander and Esmee's heads.

Too deep for Alan to reach with the spade so his little helpers were more than happy to get in the hole and use the garden trowel and a bucket to dig further down.

Now they are filled with empty drums for storm water drainage - not completed yet, they are still giant holes in the ground. But they should be finished soon....

New Windows

We finally got Xander's new windows installed! Double-glazed, aluminum gorgeousness!

pulling out the old windows

all ready to install the new one

small window done!

gorgeous big window done - just need to paint the wood frame now!

He now has the warmest (winter) and coolest (summer) room in the house. Who's bedroom is next??

Dare Devil in the making

Alan has introduced Xander to the local bike track, complete with jumps and turns.
Xander started out slowly and carefully going over the smaller humps at the end and gaining confidence until he tackled the track from the start.
The look on his face was pure bliss!
He fell off at one stage and grazed his elbow quite bad, but was up quickly and completed the course before coming to me for a wipe down.

I am not crazy about this idea, but that is the protective mother in me. Xander is having fun and this is the start of his testing new ground and challenging his confidence.
I don't think i'll be able to watch him too often as it was really stressful for me. So i'll just have to wait at home and listen to his enthusiasm after the fact!
Oh, and make sure he has lots of protective gear ;)
